About what are you confused? You told him your feelings and he reciprocated with facts and the weather. If you LIKE having your feelings ignored, continue the relationship. If you don't like it, you know what to do. You'll have a tough row to hoe if you try to hope, or manipulate, or convince yourself that a guy in your life is something he is quite obviously not. Life is difficult.
