Should I be worried about my tarantula?

I have a Pink Toe Tarantula and about 3 months ago he began to spin a web. There used to be a hole in the bottom that he would come out of to get food, but he would rarely come out. Then about a month ago he molted, but he has covered the hole he used to get in and out of and hasn't been out in a while. Its been a very long time since he ate and I'm worried. Should I destroy the web so he can get out or just leave it be? I know they wont eat for a while after molting, but its been soo long.
